Week Three

01:33

So, now I am done with the three first weeks of school, and while I learned a lot a few problems did occur on the way. I got new computer not that long ago, as an upgrade from my old macbook was needed. The problem with my new computer I realised very quickly was that it would randomly restart, making it so that I sometimes lost my progress and was just something that was very annoying. I tried first fixing it myself, by checking forums online, but nothing worked. So in the end I had too send it back, and work on my old macbook until I got it back.

During the final part of week three, we had our first proper assignment. We were going to draw a stove from three different views, and then deliver it at the end of the week. As I now only had my old macbook, which had problems running AutoCAD, I had too try optimising the computer and program. After a look at a few forums, the program seemed too run fine. One little thing was that the layout on the mac, was completely different from that on the windows, so that took a while getting used too, so I had to relearn the program. But after all that, I could finally start the assignment, well I thought. Everything worked perfectly up until the moment I started using commands, like extrude, then my mac would freeze up and the program would crash. So after a lot of going back and forth, I just couldn't get through the assignment.

I do really want my mac too be able to run the program I need, in case I get problems with my computer in the future. But it is a learning experience, and now I know that I should always have a backup plan if things like this happens again.
